Go On

An unexpected gain you fall upon,
That makes the day merry,
Let it not launch you in the sky,
And set your heart aflurry.
In gain and loss, bear your mind
Lie firmly in the centre.
And as I tell you, my dear son
Just go on, go on, go on.

Your beloved abandons you o’night,
And your world is in a turmoil.
Your mind is blank and heart is grave
Like a lamp without its oil.
Handshakes or heartbreaks, take them all,
For you are like the lake calm.
And as I tell you, my dear son
Just go on, go on, go on.

You build a house with sweat and toil,
You empty your coffers for the family.
A day comes when all are gone,
And you find yourself in agony.
To this I say, who are your’s?
Neither, naught and indeed nor.
And as I tell you my dear son
Just go on, go on, go on.

The time is ripe, and your visage wan,
A bald patch grows ever obvious,
Your body is frail and your mind confused,
Understanding life’s grand purpose
It is now, ahoy! the window opens,
Through love and peace, you are reborn.
And as I tell you, my dear son
Just go on, go on, go on.

Bereft of all, bereft of none,
You begin the journey back home .
You are alone and yet have yourself,
Loving, caring like a poem.
It is indeed a blessed soul who makes this realization,
That you are you and you alone.
This is when you tell these words,
Just go on, go on go on.

The eternal doorway opens in you,
And you find yourself wonderous.
How strange it is, empty yet full,
Strong yet without a purpose ,
It is all in all, here and there,
Light and peace you discover
And as you know yourself my dear son
Just go on, go on go on
