What are we here for?
I ask myself, on one cold starry night.
What shall we take from here?
These questions burned in me bright.
The death of another loved one,
comes to me as an ominous tiding.
I can't help but think and reflect,
on my own waiting, striving and biding.
Life appears to be a farce,
A show, a game, a circus play.
We jostle, we play, we fight, we love.
Until, the tide of time, comes and calls it a day.
In this brief second, in a tiny moment,
our affairs appear to be strong and real.
But what is reality?
when all things here are indeed surreal.
Like a railway platform, my passenger friends,
get on and get off, when they do arrive.
All eager to return to where they came from,
all eager to drop their torpor and strife.
In this journey of life, I have realized,
nothing stays, not even me.
So what should you hold on to?
what does set me free?
These are poignant questions,
and often each has a pensive answer.
But do ask, I beseech you, do enquire.
It is that which makes you supple, yet stronger.
Do not fear death, nor going away,
for it is merely a change of your uniform.
You assumed this visage, as you began this life.
It's what you came here with, just as you were born.
What starts, has an end, know this.
What ends, has a start, know this too.
You weren't, then you were,
you now are and then you won't, that's true.
And now that you know this,
Smile. Live. Love.
For nothing else matters, here.
Not why, now when, not how!
And as my own journey comes to an end,
I wish to spread this message far and wide.
Give love. Share wisdom . Bestow Light.
The world is yours, beautiful and bright.
Lover of all things beautiful - nature, classical music, literature, poetry, craftsmanship, books, yoga, meditation, the natural sciences, cooking, carpentry, scrubbing and cleaning dirty floors, walking, breathing, existing.

Insightful lines …
As human beings, what we can do is simple, “Give love. Share wisdom . Bestow Light.”
Thank you so much for sharing, Akhilesh …
